Rola kickstarted her online activity approximately 4 years ago, and her fanbase rapidly amounted to over 500,000 on TikTok only.
One often wonders the upsides and downsides that come with an ever-growing following, the messages that go misinterpreted and the words that can never be spoken.
Today, humaning debuts, a series that aspires to brings people together, one that emphasizes the collectiveness of the human experience, at a time when the internet seems to divide us, as it allows us to cut and trim mundanity and the less rainbow-like parts of life, and in that case, there’s no one better to talk to than a genuine soul, with a passion for life, the arts and humor.
We’ll leave you to her wonders!

How did social media change your life?
When my social media activity commenced, I was in a transitional phase in my life. Social media bestowed amazing friends upon me, and introduced me to social circles that I truly cherish.
Needless to say that I have been offered work opportunities, that I would have never imagined taking up.
On the other hand, down the line, I’ve become increasingly self-aware. There is this pressure that I can’t exactly take off my back.

Rola on Vulnerability & Oversharing
Vulnerability is the act of being as genuine as one can be.
It is is the act of showing the world who you are, with no regards to acceptance.
It is the courage to be all over the place, to be human.
A huge part of the hyperself-awareness I often struggle with, usually engendered by the comments people leave, often make me doubt whether I overshared.

What aspects of your childhood could have been tell-tale signs on your passion for media & arts?
I absolutely loved theatre at school.
I was zealous about talent shows.
I was never into sports, but I always enjoyed art, in general.
I even meddled with the piano, for some time, and in 11th grade,
I signed up for acting classes.
I found Vine super cool, and actually, content that I would post on there was quite similar to that I create now.

What would you thank your dad for?
For his sense of humor and for being very understanding; we are very similar, but quite different, and he never fails on compromising until we find a middle ground.
He is super thoughtful.

Who’s one stranger that deeply touched you?
Someone I’ll never forget is Seif Abdelnaby, a Bank El Qualaq cast member. He got us all personalized gift bags, that were all based on conversations we had had during our time working together.
It made me feel like I want to be that person.

What is the biggest love you’ve ever known?
is that of my grandma.
She made up a huge part of my childhood.
She passed away when I was 13, but she truly loves me unconditionally.
I was a very talkative child, but she would listen to me for hours on end, and hang my ugly paintings on the walls of her house.
She did nurture a lot of love in me.

What’s a movie everyone should watch?
“Lion”
It walks you through the journey of a little boy, who got lost in train tracks, and got adopted by Australian parents. He then discovers Google Maps, and is determined to go back to his roots, and find his mom.

If you could play any game from your childhood, which one would you choose?
Hide & Seek, specifically on my school premises.
I know the school like the back of my hand.

If you were a mythical creature, what would you be?
A wizard from Harry Potter, or a vampire: strong, super fast and immortal.

If you could re-parent yourself, what would you do differently?
I am an only child, so sometimes I felt a bit neglected.
So I would definitely keep me on the busier end; that would also help me figure out what I love- my hobbies and interests- faster.

What is one thing you wish everyone knew about you?
That I am really shy.
People approach me, assuming that I am a social butterfly, so they sometimes end up disappointed, in a sense.
I can be a bit socially awkward, and I do take time to feel comfortable enough to be my true self.

What are you hoping for Rola?
2023 was cruel to me. I outgrew friendships & relationships, my first heartbreak. I hope the circle I love & trust doesn’t dissipate. I don’t wanna lose anyone again, I’d rather not go through it again.
I wanna be more present online too.

What does being human mean?
Being human is having empathy, understanding and accepting.
Being able to love and hate.
It is very intense.
You’re such a spirit.
As soon as you’re in touch with your emotions, you’ll start truly living the human experience
It’s not easy.
